Our Journey

Our journey begins in the 1970's when I got my first guitar. Jump ahead a few years and the really begins. I purchased the very same guitar a friend had, but it was not at all the same. His guitar played great, it was easy to play and was faster than mine. But how was this possible. They were the very same guitar. It was then that I learned about setting a guitar's action. That was the difference between his axe and mine.

It grew from there. Other guitars and they all needed to be set up. As did the guitars of my friends. Many of them were like me originally, had no clue about set ups, action, intonation, etc.

Inevitably, guitars led to damages and breakage. With few places to go for repairs, we had to learn on our own. With no internet back in the dinosaur days, I spent many trips to libraries, many hours learning from others and finally attending a class. Which lead to another class in guitar making. I was hooked. Making, fixing, setting up, polishing, it was a nice distraction from my electronics career. Who knew that someday the two would meld into one and I would find myself striking out in the guitar repair world?
