GLS Custom Dual‑Coil Pickups

Double the coils. Double the punch — tight, focused hum-cancelling tone for players who want clarity with bite.

Overview: GLS Dual-Coil pickups combine two matched coils to deliver the thick, hum-reducing power of a humbucker while preserving string definition and attack. Designed for modern players and tone purists alike, these pickups excel in high-gain contexts without losing note clarity.

Key Features

  • True hum-cancelling dual-coil design for quiet performance on stage and in the studio.
  • Balanced midrange with defined highs and tight low end—cuts through a dense mix.
  • Available in multiple magnet options (Alnico V, Alnico II, Ceramic) to suit vintage warmth or modern punch.
  • Wired for easy coil-split/phase switching for maximum tonal versatility.
  • Road-tested build quality with nickel/silver or chrome covers (optional).

Tonal Character

GLS Dual-Coils sit between single-coil sparkle and full humbucker thickness. Expect strong note attack, focused mids, and a tight low-end that responds well to palm-muting and aggressive picking. They take pedals and overdrive very well while remaining musical and articulate.

Technical / Recommended Specs

  • Type Passive Dual-Coil (humbucking)
  • Output Moderate to High (model dependent)
  • Magnet Options Alnico II / Alnico V / Ceramic
  • DC Resistance (typ.) 8kΩ – 14kΩ (varies by model)
  • Recommended Pots 250kΩ (for brighter tone) or 500kΩ (for more bite)
  • Mounting Standard humbucker footprint — direct replacement

Wiring & Installation Notes

  • Wired for straightforward coil-split: tap the series link or use the provided 4-conductor lead. Coil-split reduces output and mimics single-coil brightness.
  • Phase reversal/parallel options available for additional thin/quirky tones.
  • LSet pickup height close enough for attack without magnetic pull on sustain — start about 2.0–2.5 mm from the low-E when fretted at the highest fret and adjust to taste.
  • For high-gain rigs: pair with moderate gain and a tight low-end EQ to preserve articulation.

Who It's For

Players who need hum-free performance with strong attack and presence: rock, metal, fusion, and modern studio work. Great as a bridge pickup for punchy leads or in the neck for thick, singing cleans that still articulate chords.
