Frequently Asked Questions
Below are answers to common questions about custom GLS bass builds,
specifications, timelines, and performance expectations.
Do you build multiscale bass guitars?
Yes. GLS multiscale basses are precision-calculated to optimize string tension,
low-B clarity, and articulation across the entire fretboard. Each scale
configuration is engineered for balance and ergonomic comfort rather than
exaggerated fanning for appearance alone.
Do you offer both 4-string and 5-string basses?
Absolutely. We build 4-string and 5-string instruments with scale options
ranging from traditional 34” to extended and multiscale configurations.
Each build is optimized for your tuning, playing style, and tonal goals.
What electronics options are available?
We offer passive vintage-inspired configurations, active 2-band and 3-band EQ
systems, and switchable active/passive setups. Pickup layouts include P, J,
P/J, dual humbuckers, and modern soapbar configurations — all wired with
noise-managed internal harnesses for studio-grade signal integrity.
Can I customize neck profile and string spacing?
Yes. Neck geometry is tailored to your preference, including profile shape,
nut width, string spacing, fret size, and radius. Playability is calibrated
to match your technique — whether fingerstyle, slap, pick, or progressive performance.
What is your typical build timeline?
Most custom GLS bass builds are completed within 4–9 months depending on
complexity, materials, and electronics configuration. Multiscale and
signature-tier builds may require additional time due to precision work
and finish curing.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A non-refundable design deposit secures your build slot and covers
design development and materials allocation. The remaining balance is
structured in milestone-based payments throughout the build process.
Can you build a bass for low tunings or extended range clarity?
Absolutely. Extended low-range performance requires careful scale selection,
tension balancing, and pickup voicing. We engineer each instrument to maintain
clarity and note definition even under aggressive tuning demands.
Are your instruments built for professional touring?
Yes. GLS basses are constructed with stability, hardware reliability,
and structural integrity in mind. Each instrument undergoes a documented
final inspection and performance certification prior to delivery.
Where are you located?

Santa Barbara County, Los Angeles County, and clients nationwide.
